Which doesn't belong: Facebook, Xanga, AIM?

AIM.  I haven't been on it in... three weeks?  Ish?  It feels kind of refreshing, I have to admit.  But I guess not in the sense that there are definitely people like Strafford and whathaveyou that I really only speak to on AIM.  Huh.

I don't update xanga, either, as you can tell.  But here's what's new:

-I met Marc Brown/got a picture with him (he's the author of the Arthur books, for all you lame kids)

-I purchased gloves

-I saw Mario Batali again

-I now own a book by Alice Sebold (thanks to the event where I saw Marc Brown)

-I'm reading about old-man-little-boy-love-and-sex-dynamics for one of my classes

-I am reading about crackhouses for one of my classes, and will soon be reading about Brazilian transgendered prostitutes (there will be pictures/I've seen them and I had to go look at a science/math/economics/I-forget book to wipe the slate clean of those images)

-I have post-it notes that were given to me for graduation, but I have a stupid mentality about school supplies where I don't like to use them because I'm afraid I'll run out (*doesn't make sense*)

-I write about old television in a blog, now

-At least once, I looked at being vegan in a new, positive light (whoa)

-I've started to layer more often

But I do go on Facebook every once in a while.

Take it easy.

*guitar solo in "Carry On My Wayward Son"* Yeah. My title isn't a song lyric.

Another reason why NY is okay:

-camping out yesterday at 8 PM on the sidewalk to get SNL tickets, only sleeping from around 5-6:30 AM, then getting back to the dorm at 7:30ish this morning.  All for standby tickets.

Um.

Take it easy.

*New layout'D*

Comrades, by "New York", I mean "school."  Italics indicate emphasis.

Reasons New York is okay:

-celebrity sightings

-everything is within walking distance if you make it such

-speakers

-people live here that don't go to the college, necessarily

-it's kind of hard to run into your teachers in odd places (good or bad, I guess, depending on the teacher)

-grid system

-dogs

-seeing Stephen Colbert or Jon Stewart isn't all that implausible

-some people that I've met

Reasons New York is not so okay:

-in my anthropology class, people in my recitation didn't know what the term "eugenics" meant

-people think no one understands the pain they harvest within their insides... ohhhhhhh we're so deeeeeeeep

-the guy who bikes around screaming curse words at everyone (this could be good or bad, actually)

-previously-harbored feelings of the school still exist.  And yes, it is bitterness, but... well... I don't really care.  So shh.

-some people that I've met (but not really)

-kind of hard to get involved

-3/4 classes have 160ish people in them

BGA told me to update.  So there's an update.  After.... over half a year?  Maybe?  Nice.

My entries are rather bland.  My fecundity is limited, if you will (*nudge nudge, BGA*).

I want to join a radio club, but I'd have to do news, because the kids here are too hip-and-with-music and the station doesn't let you play things that are from the top 40, or, just essentially won't let you play things that are played on other stations.  Oh well.

Sigh.  Too big.

Take it easy.

Yay for license (although I'm scared to use it).

Take it easy.
